Remember mood rings in the ’80s? Now there’s mood nail polish (In The Mood polish, $8, themoodpolish.com), which changes colors depending on how you feel. It works based on your body temp — so when you’re calm, your body is cooler; when you’re worked up, your body is hotter. The change in temp triggers the polish to go from, say, blue to green or purple to pink. Check out these feel-good tricks for blah days.

Yesterday, I decided to paint on Hyper, a bright coral, to see if the stuff really worked. I applied two coats, let it dry, and then stared at it. Nothing happened. Being the impatient person that I am, I stomped into the office bathroom and ran my fingers under hot water. That did it — the coral instantly turned into an almost-white salmon shade. See easy fixes for your most embarrassing nail care questions.

Proof it does work with your mood: It changed back to the vibrant coral shade around 5 p.m. — about the time I turned in a major story, and breathed a sigh of calm. Check out how bright nail polish can put you in an awesome mood.

What is your favorite nail polish color?

I don't think I need a polish to let me know what mood I am in..LOL!

No polish for me. Just nice, clean, manicured hands. I never have the time to keep up with polish along with every thing else.
It is hard to just to keep them filed and clean!

Pluse the chemicals used have turned me off since a train carrying a well used ingriediant fell over and created a huge enviromental mess. Maybe if there was a way to create a stain, all natural that does not need such a caustic remover would be cool.

Awesome! I'm old enough to remember the old mood rings, and miss them….I'm sorry I misplaced mine years ago. I'm so going to try this mood polish out. I've seen mood polish before, but it really didn't work at all. Take it from an old hippie, mood rings, mood jewelry and now mood polish are just good clean fun!

As for my favorite color, it would have to be some shade of pink, although I've used colors that coordinated with my wardrobe….blue, purple, green, yellow, whatever! :)
